Nowadays marketers try to reach their target audience by establishing multiple communication channels in order to get their message through successfully. Recent studies prove this ongoing trend.
A current survey conducted by Woodwing Software points out that 60 % of industry experts like marketers, publishers and advertisers prefer a cross media mix to create their campaigns.
21.6 % of the participants declare print to be the most important channel to communicate with, whereas the internet (5.6 %) and mobile devices (4.8 %) are not considered to be as important as the “classic”.
Similar results can be seen from the consumer’s point of view in a DMA research. 51 % of the participants prefer direct mail as the channel for receiving marketing from local shops or banks (48 %). On the other hand, 50 % claim email as preferred channel for event marketing.
What we learn is that print still plays an important role in the consumers’ everyday life offering them some benefits which other media cannot provide. But to create a successful print campaign, advertisers and marketers still have to find ways to make their message stand out of the masses of information society is confronted with in daily routine.
How can they create for example a print mail that speaks to their audience directly, adds emotional and informative value and increases the response rates in the campaigns? The answer is simple. As 74 % of the participants in the DMA research claim: Personalize it!
