Everything is possible in Print. This was the theme and key message of an event in London this month at which I was fortunate to be asked to contribute a 10-minute ‘inspiration’ to an audience of 150 brand marketers, printers and their suppliers.
As one of the keynote speakers, Simon Biltcliffe, the self-confessed “Marxist/Capitalist” CEO of Webmart, concisely put it, “You can’t out-compete, but you can out-collaborate”.
At locr, we are firm believers in the power of collaboration. It’s how we work. We collaborate with our software and technology partners like XMPie and HP to enhance their solutions with speciality services like personalized mapping and geodata analytics. Our customers collaborate not only with us, but often with other marketing, data and creative agencies, to assemble innovative and powerful solutions that deliver success for their clients.
We can’t do it all by ourselves and neither can the solitary printer or agency. Somebody cheaper or bigger will always out-compete you. But if you’re smart you can collaborate with partners to make a whole that’s greater than the sum of the parts.
Another inspirational speaker at EPIP/2018 was Stephan Pretorius, global CTO and UK CEO of Wunderman, one of the world’s leading agencies. He brought the EPIP theme to life with numerous vivid examples of how Wunderman brings together marketing technology, data wizardry and creative brilliance to inspire consumers to act and deliver results for brands. I was particularly moved by this one for way it links print and digital billboard displays with live location data for a worthwhile purpose.
