2016 was an active year for locr – especially in regards of the events the locr team attended. In this blog post we gathered the most interesting facts about the events we attended, cities we’ve visited and people we’ve met.
Collaborating with EFI we produced a map that measures 7.5 meters long and 5 meters wide. This world map might just be the largest map ever printed at drupa. The high-resolution map that is 59,054 pixels long by 39,369 pixels wide was printed on a EFI SuperWide Inkjet machine. Read more about the giant world map on the locr blog!
Holger Urbansky, managing director of locr, says,
“We came to drupa four years ago with a new solution that gave printers a way to add a highly personalized element to their printed communications. Now, four years later, we return to drupa showcasing all the ways our company has grown, including enhanced maps, a global list of customers, and a solution that lets marketers get closer to their clients. We are proud of what we have accomplished in this time, and look forward to showcasing it all during drupa.”
Known as SHSMD Connections 2016, this annual event brings together healthcare marketing, communications, and strategic planning professionals for a discussion on the trends and topics that are driving healthcare marketing.
Randy Hardy, US business development for locr, notes,
“Healthcare consumers today have more choices for their healthcare. As a result, health marketers are working hard to create campaigns that get – and keep – patients coming to a healthcare practice. locr supports the effort of these marketers, giving them the resources they need to finely target their message and to include a valuable level of personalization. Together, these solutions help healthcare marketers succeed.“

&Then is the annual event of the Direct Marketing Association. Building on the success of their previous DMA conferences, this event brings together marketing thought leaders and attendees for a dynamic discussion on the state of marketing today and offers ideas for the future.
In November locr was part of the annual XMPie Users Group Conference which was held in Atlanta this year. XMPie customers, partners, suppliers and executives frequently gather to discuss trends and share best practices for more effective crossmedia marketing campaigns.
The locr team held a presentation about ‘How to Add Value to Customer Data with Geo-Marketing’. Thomas Schnettler and Randy Hardy explained to the attendees how they can produce creative and successful campaigns using the XMPie Mapping Service and locr personalized maps. Further locr came up with something special for the XUG this time. Together with XMPie we created a restaurant and bar guide for Buckhead.
