When Location Matters
If you don’t like to travel far to visit your doctor, you are not alone. After quality of care, location is one of the biggest factors patients consider when choosing a doctor.
So when The Orthopedics Center at the University of Chicago Medical Center (UCMC) wanted to increase visibility and new patient visits for their new orthopedics practice, they focused on location and quality.
For help, UCMC worked with direct mail provider Rider Dickenson to create a direct mail campaign. This campaign promoted the fact that patients who visit the new UCMC location in Matteson, Illinois could receive the same world-class care offered at the location in Chicago, without having to drive the longer distance.
The target audience for this campaign was households in Matteson, Illinois and surrounding towns within a certain distance of the Matteson Clinic. Additional selections included people who met specific financial and active lifestyle requirements.
To increase the campaign’s effectiveness, Rider Dickerson worked with locr to include a personalized map in each digitally printed mailer. These maps showed each recipient exactly where the facility is located relative to his or her home with a route line. The mailer also included a personalized headline and copy that details the distance in minutes to the clinic.
A Healthy Increase In Office Visits
The results of the direct mail campaign were excellent. After the first mailing, the healthcare provider saw a 43% jump in new patient visits compared with the previous year, which they attributed to this mailer. The clinic also saw increased web activity and call volume during that same period.
