locr partners with leading geodata providers to acquire the content needed to create accurate, detailed maps of the highest quality. Working with these partners gives locr a steady stream of geodata from a range of trusted providers. This data, and locr’s quality production process, are why print and marketing service providers around the world choose locr maps.
locr compiles geodata from several leading providers, including NAVTEQ/Here (www.navteq.com), TomTom (tomtom.com) and OpenStreetMap (www.osm.org). Data from these providers is delivered to locr in the form of raw geodata, which locr then coverts to longitude/latitude. By converting the geodata, locr is able to generate a JPEG of a map that is accurate and includes all of the detail specified by the user.
The data – and the process locr uses to create these maps – ensures a level of quality that is unmatched by other map providers.
Rolf Richter, CEO at locr, states, “More and more, marketers are using personalized maps in their communications. But these maps will only add value if they are accurate and can detail an exact location. Some providers offer maps that have simply been “cut” from a zoomed-in image of a larger map. In this cutting process, important details such as street names, city names, and actual streets can be cut off, leaving the user with an incomplete or inaccurate map.”
He continues, “locr’s maps are different. It starts with the data we use, and continues in our production process. With both of these in place, we can ensure that our maps are servicing the needs of print and marketing service providers and the clients they serve.”
